what would you have done?
A cleaner who handed in £33,000 worth of cash after discovering it in a Pakistan hotel room will be rewarded for his remarkable honesty.
Hotel employee Essa Khan found the wad of $100 notes left in a safety deposit box in the room of a Japanese NGO worker at the Serena hotel in Gilgit.

Re: what would you have done?
I think a lot of people would have done WG. I'd have done exactly what the cleaner did though and handed it in
Re: what would you have done?
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't hand it in
I'd be too scared the police would find me

Re: what would you have done?
I once found a purse that was full of money, dont know exactly how much but there were lots of notes in it. Turned out it was the hairdressers who was at my next door neighbours, I gave her it back without even thinking. I couldnt have lived with myself either Angel if I hadnt but thats just me
Re: what would you have done?
I think that amount of money I would hand in and hope for a reward lol
My brother once found over a £100 in 1960, it turned out to be the milkmans and he lived nearby so my dad sent Kevin (brother) to the milkmans house to give it back which he did, he hardly got a thank you! and 100 quid was a lot of money in those days...I wouldn't hand money in if I found it on the street but in a hotel safe is a different matter lol

Re: what would you have done?
I remember going through the park one day when i was 12 or so and i found a purse with about £3 in it, back then that would have fed a family at least a week. The police station was near so i handed it in to them, went home, had my dinner and thought no more about it.Must have been about 6 months later, a policeman came to the door looking for me. My Mum thought i'd done something wrong and was busy telling me off when the policeman explained he had come to give me back the purse, seems nobody came to claim it and there was nothing in the purse to say who it belonged to, so i got it. I thought all my birthdays had come at once, that was until Mum told me it was going into the bank. Mind you i was spoiled anyway so i got more than my £3 most weeks anyway. I did get an icecream and some sweets, so i was happy. I would still hand it in to the Police today.

I'd agree with the hand it in. I will never forget the person who handed purse in.
I was on my way to church and walking with a daughter in her pushchair.. Hubby was working away from home and no contact available. I suddelny realised my purse was not there. The money in it , though a small amount, was for food and all I had.
I knocked on a door nearby and asked if I could make a call to the police. The gentleman said he would drive me around where I had been walking.
He was so kind and when he phoned he was told that the purse had been handing in. He drove me there and I needed to pay a reward, my good samaritan said "No, you need that to feed your children" and he paid the reward himself.
Even a small amount might make such a difference when handed in.
I wonder where he is now, I hope he was rewarded in his life.
